Welcome to Talessman's Atlas of World History! I'm Thomas Lessman, an amateur historian with over 20 years of experience researching world history and a passion for history maps.

I appreciate "open resources" like websites, freeware programs, open-source software, and community projects. They provide greatly needed resources that are often too expensive on my limited budget. Even more important, they encourage people to work together for the common good instead of competing for profit. Out of respect to resources that have helped me over the years, I'm returning the favor the only way I can - by sharing my own work & knowledge!

The Maps page has a complete list of history maps created by Thomas Lessman.

     The Sources section contains detailed lists of references for the info depicted on the maps and this site.

     Recently I've added some companion sections. The History section is for articles about historical peoples & nations. The Timelines section will have detailed lists of events in chronological order. And a "Gazetteer" section will (eventually) show in-depth info on places shown in the maps.

     The Updates page lists recent changes (when I have time to update the page!). My favorite resources and history-related links can be found on the Links page.
